Rob Brown: “This book is the culmination of forty-six years of buying-rigging-fixing-selling-upgrading boats, focusing, carrying equipment, timing, maneuvering, estimating, coordinating, and commitment to finding and shooting the biggest surfable waves on earth. Add to that the massively expensive switch to new digital technology, and then auto-focus in the early 2000s (which made manual focus telephotos obsolete). But most of all, it’s a culmination of trust and dedication. Trusting ourselves to nail it, trusting the surfers to charge, and documenting the exciting early era of Todos Santos, Mavericks, and the biggest of them all, the legendary Cortes Banks.”
