Aloha from the California Surf Museum!
Our 13th Annual Gala Fundraiser is Nov. 6 from 4-10pm!

In this year of new beginnings, we ask you to dig deep into your hearts. The California Surf
Museum in its past 35-year history has not faced the challenges it has been given. This year’s
fundraising Gala will be our most important ever.

Being honored at this year’s Gala, we are proud to announce the California Surf Museum Silver
Surfer honorees for 2021: Women’s World Surfing Champions Lynne Boyer, Debbie Melville Beacham and
Kim Mearig; Boogie Board inventor and surfing innovator Tom Morey; and World Longboarding
Champion Joel Tudor, who at our Fundraising Gala will also be presenting a tribute in memory of
legendary master surfer/shaper Donald Takayama.

Whether you are a new supporter or returning, we are asking for your attendance and/or your
donation to our Gala Auction at our 13th Annual Gala Fundraiser on Saturday, November 6,
from 4-10pm, once again at the beautiful, beachfront TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence
winning Cape Rey Hilton, located at 1 Ponto Road, Carlsbad.

The silent and live auctions are the evening’s main fundraising efforts and a highlighted crowd
pleaser. We hope, with your support, to sell out the event in what will be a great environment for
showcasing your organization. Please consider donating gift certificates, items, experiences, or
services that highlight your brand. Donations are always acknowledged and promoted on the
museum’s website, the Gala program and during the evening. October 15, 2021 is the deadline for
donations to be included in the Gala promotion and program.

If you have any questions on tickets or shipping requirements regarding a donation, please contact
the Museum’s Store Manager, Camille, at 760-721-6876 (weekdays 10am-4pm) or email
store@surfmuseum.org. Our mailing address is California Surf Museum, 312 Pier View Way,
Oceanside CA 92054. The California Surf Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Tax ID
#33-0215579, relying primarily on funding from memberships and donations.

Thank you in advance for your support of our work in educating the public on the rich, vibrant culture
of the history of surfing and the preservation of that history at the Museum. This is the year we stand
strong for the things we value. Join us in keeping the vision of the California Surf Museum strong so
that we can pass the torch to our kids.

Sincerely,

Jim Kempton
President, California Surf Museum
