4th Annual AR Gurrey JR Photography Competition

The California Surf Museum’s A.R. Gurrey Student Surf Photo Contest was a wonderful experience. It was streamed LIVE across multiple platforms and seen by thousands of people in Oceanside and throughout San Diego County.

Two hundred and seventy six submissions were submitted from eleven different high schools. There were more than 120 guests at the awards ceremony; it was standing room only.

These students from multiple districts and different ethnic groups received recognition that they seldom find in their school systems. It was really a joy to see the stoke in their eyes as the took their awards – and the beaming smiles from their parents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and friends.

The California Surf Museum thanks you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.

Come by and see the fabulous photos these students have on display.

Aloha,
Jim Kempton
